Code Ann. § 41-83-25","body":"(1) Every health insurance plan proposing to issue or deliver a health insurance policy or contract or administer a health benefit program which provides for the coverage of hospital and medical benefits and the utilization review of those benefits shall:\n\n(a) Have a certificate in accordance with this chapter; or\n\n(b) Contract with a private review agent who has a certificate in accordance with this chapter.\n\n(2) Notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter, for claims where the medical necessity of the provision of a covered benefit is disputed, a health service plan that does not meet the requirements of subsection (1) of this section shall pay any person or hospital entitled to reimbursement under the policy or contract.","path":["MS Code","Title 41"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"b12709feaf83c3c7eba024de08f501b39cfd8a3f583ad901cdfc78a2d36dd502","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-41-83-23","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-41-83-27"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
