Code Ann. § 43-17-25","body":"Whoever obtains, or attempts to obtain, or aids or abets any child to obtain by means of a willfully false statement or representation, or by impersonation or other fraudulent device:\n\n(1) TANF assistance to which the child is not entitled; or\n\n(2) TANF assistance greater than that to which he is justly entitled, shall be subject to the criminal penalties prescribed in Section 97-19-71 ; or shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than Twenty-five Hundred Dollars ($2500.00) or be imprisoned for not more than twelve (12) months, or both, in the discretion of the court.","path":["MS Code","Title 43"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"d68f25b89b1cc4b89541aca9a8d59d709ca93b3212aaeb386899a2be926aa5a8","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-43-17-23","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-43-17-3"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
