Code Ann. § 43-21-601","body":"(1) If the child has been adjudicated a delinquent child, a child in need of supervision, a neglected child or an abused child, the youth court shall immediately set a time and place for a disposition hearing which shall be separate, distinct and subsequent to the adjudicatory hearing. The disposition hearing, however, may be held immediately following the adjudicatory hearing unless a continuance is necessary to allow the parties to prepare for their participation in the proceedings.\n\n(2) If the child has been taken into custody, a disposition hearing shall be held within fourteen (14) days after the adjudicatory hearing unless good cause be shown for postponement.","path":["MS Code","Title 43"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"cb7d65cbb4e9ead53b6ec19d4abc670e2d5228b603fd66f2f8689ebf608bcfb6","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-43-21-561","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-43-21-603"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
