Code Ann. § 43-21-857","body":"(1) A CASA volunteer must meet the following minimum requirements:\n\n(a) Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age;\n\n(b) Be of good moral character;\n\n(c) Complete a written application providing the names of at least three (3) references;\n\n(d) Submit to a personal interview with program staff;\n\n(e) Submit to a criminal records background check; and\n\n(f) Submit to child and vulnerable person abuse registries checks.\n\n(2) If found acceptable, the applicant shall obtain a minimum of thirty (30) hours of initial training and take an oath of confidentiality administered by a youth court judge or, if none, a chancellor in the chancery court district.\n\n(3) Initial and in-service training of volunteers must be provided by the program director or staff following standards adopted pursuant to Section 43-21-867 .","path":["MS Code","Title 43"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"9fac03c18e1e244dd451dcf95e92dd00a0d09aa99b66707b6468122c24f87313","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-43-21-855","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-43-21-859"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
