Code Ann. § 45-38-9","body":"(1) A digital service provider that enters into an agreement with a known minor for access to a digital service shall:\n\n(a) Limit collection of the known minor's personal identifying information to information reasonably necessary to provide the digital service; and\n\n(b) Limit use of the known minor's personal identifying information to the purpose for which the information was collected.\n\n(2) A digital service provider that enters into an agreement with a known minor for access to a digital service may not:\n\n(a) Use the digital service to collect the known minor's precise geolocation data;\n\n(b) Use the digital service to display targeted advertising involving harmful material to the known minor; or\n\n(c) Share, disclose or sell the known minor's personal identifying information unless required to:\n\n(i) Comply with a civil, criminal or regulatory inquiry, investigation, subpoena or summons by a governmental entity;\n\n(ii) Comply with a law enforcement investigation;\n\n(iii) Detect, block or prevent the distribution of unlawful, obscene or other harmful material to a known minor;\n\n(iv) Block or filter spam;\n\n(v) Prevent criminal activity; or\n\n(vi) Protect the security of a digital service.","path":["MS Code","Title 45"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"c7af6c0f613cee98fc4c247045c11ec2a8c66e2339fd802570bb301c62231b60","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-45-38-7","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-45-39-1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
