Code Ann. § 47-5-1517","body":"(1) The Department of Corrections shall develop and provide to all correctional facility employees and correctional officers who have contact with pregnant inmates training related to the physical and mental health of pregnant inmates and fetuses, including the following:\n\n(a) General care of pregnant women;\n\n(b) The impact of restraints on pregnant inmates and fetuses;\n\n(c) The impact of being placed in restrictive housing on pregnant inmates; and\n\n(d) The impact of invasive searches on pregnant inmates.\n\n(2) The Department of Corrections shall develop and provide educational programming for pregnant inmates related to:\n\n(a) Prenatal care;\n\n(b) Pregnancy-specific hygiene;\n\n(c) Parenting skills;\n\n(d) The impact of alcohol and drugs on the fetus; and\n\n(e) General health of child.","path":["MS Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"4a6e609ea9ae6dc29f28672106971e7a5af4412b18c0726f1870e94ef38fe8d3","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-47-5-1515","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-47-5-155"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
