Code Ann. § 47-5-905","body":"(1) All persons placed under the custody of the Department of Corrections shall be processed at a reception and diagnostic center of the Department of Corrections and then be assigned to an appropriate correctional facility for a complete and thorough classification, not to exceed ninety (90) days, unless the department determines that a person can be properly processed and classified at the county jail in accordance with the department's classification plan.\n\n(2) The Department of Corrections shall develop a plan for the processing and classification of inmates in county jails and shall implement the plan by January 1, 1993.","path":["MS Code","Title 47"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"1d2b2eb055eb97fb06ecd95893411710957ca3b01291da88fab9c84e67b7eb66","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-47-5-903","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-47-5-907"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
