Code Ann. § 49-15-307","body":"The department shall have the following powers and duties:\n\n(a) To implement the policy of the department regarding marine resources within the jurisdiction of the department;\n\n(b) To apply for, receive and expend any federal or state funds or contributions, gifts, devises, bequests or funds from any other source;\n\n(c) To commission or conduct studies designed to determine alternative methods of managing and conserving the marine resources of this state in a manner to ensure efficiency and sustained productivity;\n\n(d) To issue permits and licenses authorized by law or regulation;\n\n(e) To equip and supply check stations, remote duty stations and personnel for extended duty;\n\n(f) To develop programs to enhance the marketing of the state's recreational and commercial marine resources;\n\n(g) To provide gear, insignias, and otherwise equip personnel subject to the amount appropriated for those purposes; and\n\n(h) To discharge any other duties, responsibilities and powers as are necessary to implement this chapter.","path":["MS Code","Title 49"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"be7a1995c58e0c9b38be1b30d038d3a3290ec8b08da279a8b5e163eed367b1bf","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-49-15-305","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-49-15-309"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
