Code Ann. § 49-17-516","body":"(1) After July 1, 2009, it is unlawful for an individual who does not possess a valid lead-based paint renovator certificate to direct a lead-based paint renovation activity and/or conduct testing to determine the presence of lead-based paint on components affected by renovation activities.\n\n(2) To qualify for a lead-based paint renovator certificate, an applicant shall:\n\n(a) Have a high school diploma or its equivalent and one (1) year of experience as a lead-based paint abatement or renovation worker or two (2) years of experience in a related field, as determined by the commission or in the building trades;\n\n(b) Satisfactorily complete an accredited training program for lead-based paint renovators; or\n\n(c) Have successfully completed an accredited abatement worker or supervisor course, or have successfully completed an EPA, HUD or EPA/HUD model renovation training course and have taken an accredited refresher renovator training course; and\n\n(d) Demonstrate to the satisfaction of the commission that the applicant is familiar with and capable of complying fully with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.","path":["MS Code","Title 49"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"0865b2f89fb4e717fcbccbd3012253b02f873f321086bafee339d82c3251c569","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-49-17-515","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-49-17-517"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
