Code Ann. § 51-7-3","body":"For the purposes of this chapter the following words and terms shall have these meanings:\n\n(a) “Master water management district.” A governmental subdivision of this state and a public body, corporate and politic, created under the provisions of this chapter for the purposes set forth in Section 51-7-1 .\n\n(b) “Drainage district.” Any drainage district organized under the laws of this state.\n\n(c) “Water management district.” Any water management district created under the laws of this state.\n\n(d) “Commissioner.” Unless otherwise indicated, one of the members of the governing board of a master water management district.\n\n(e) “Landowner” or “owner of land.” Any person, firm, or corporation who shall hold legal or equitable title to any lands lying within a district organized under the provisions of this chapter.\n\n(f) “Chancery court” or “chancellor.” The chancery court or chancellor acting in term time or vacation.","path":["MS Code","Title 51"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"d998f886c9fb5522facab9fb835f188a41e314b10c5f22bcfd2495c94e7225d9","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-51-7-29","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-51-7-30"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
