Code Ann. § 57-49-1","body":"The purposes of this chapter are:\n\n(a) To transfer to the Department of Environmental Quality the duties of the Mississippi Energy and Transportation Board with respect to nuclear-related activities within the state.\n\n(b) To clarify the manner in which the Department of Environmental Quality shall perform its duty to develop, coordinate and review all nuclear-related activities in the state.\n\nIn order to assist and advise the Department of Environmental Quality in the implementation of this duty, there is hereby created a nuclear waste policy advisory council and a nuclear waste technical review committee.","path":["MS Code","Title 57"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"4e8b40bcd7dd834b33b9733bad1ba8e77b880eda8a5a046ff41ffbeccd773f35","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-57-47-9","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-57-49-11"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
