Code Ann. § 63-35-19","body":"(1) A person may operate a motor vehicle equipped with an automated driving system capable of performing the entire dynamic driving task if:\n\n(a) The automated driving system will issue a request to intervene whenever the automated driving system is not capable of performing the entire dynamic driving task with the expectation that the person will respond appropriately to the request; and\n\n(b) The automated driving system is capable of being operated in compliance with rules of the road governed by Title 63, Mississippi Code of 1972 , when reasonable to do so unless an exemption has been granted by the Department of Public Safety.\n\n(2) Nothing in this chapter prohibits or restricts a human driver from operating a fully autonomous vehicle equipped with controls that allow for the human driver to control all or part of the dynamic driving task.","path":["MS Code","Title 63"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"dd717721ff09b3f59a75a0cb9b2b7a0cdb4e18df5d8b49e89334d81337d10c2f","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-63-35-17","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-63-35-21"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
