Code Ann. § 65-17-201.nr2","body":"The boards of supervisors of the several counties of the State of Mississippi are authorized and empowered at their discretion to employ, as county engineer, a civil engineer or person qualified to perform the duties of a county engineer, and such assistant engineers as may be necessary. On all projects for the construction or reconstruction of a bridge which will cost more than Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00), or for the construction or reconstruction of roads which will cost more than Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) per mile, the employment of an engineer qualified under the chapter on engineers shall be obligatory, whether the work is to be done by contract or otherwise; however, in obligatory cases the employment may be for the particular work rather than for a term.","path":["MS Code","Title 65"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"b35cf1dc6859db8b01e414760a403e3b777ae8b9d8e2b857acdca153001347b3","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-65-17-201","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-65-17-203"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
