Code Ann. § 69-35-5","body":"The following terms shall have the following meanings unless context shall provide otherwise:\n\n(a) “State” means the State of Mississippi;\n\n(b) “Milk” means any class of cow's milk produced in the state;\n\n(c) “Dairy products” means products manufactured for human consumption which are derived from the processing of milk and includes fluid milk products;\n\n(d) “Fluid milk products” means those products normally consumed in liquid form as a beverage;\n\n(e) “Person” means any individual, group of individuals, partnership, corporation, association, cooperative association, or any other entity;\n\n(f) “Producer” means any person engaged in the production of milk for commercial use;\n\n(g) “Promotion” means actions such as paid advertising, sales promotion and publicity to advance the image and sales of and demand for dairy products;\n\n(h) “Nutrition education” means those activities intended to broaden the understanding of sound nutritional principle including the role of milk and dairy products in a balanced diet;\n\n(i) “State ADA” means the American Dairy Association of Mississippi;\n\n(j) “Extension service” means the Mississippi Cooperative Extension Service;\n\n(k) “Bulk tank unit” means a bulk tank unit as defined in accordance with the State Board of Health, Dairy Inspection Division;\n\n(l) “Block voting” means the vote cast by associations approved to be eligible to vote as described in Section 69-35-25 ;\n\n(m) “Handler” means any person engaged in the business of distributing, marketing, or in any manner handling fluid milk or dairy products, in whole or in part, for consumption;\n\n(n) “National Dairy Board” means the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board established under 7 U.S.C. 4504 , as amended;\n\n(o) “Act” shall mean the Mississippi Dairy Promotion Act; and\n\n(p) “Cooperative association” means any cooperative marketing association of producers which is organized under the provisions of the act of Congress of February 18, 1922, known as the “Capper-Volstead Act.”","path":["MS Code","Title 69"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"0a59cc27e794cd4fed9d2bfdb7997fc20c095af0baf6eedf4c2c13964cf4fdcf","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-69-35-33","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-69-35-7"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
