Code Ann. § 69-51-3","body":"For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them herein unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:\n\n(a) “ Anhydrous alcohol ” means fermentation ethyl alcohol derived from biomass, but that does not meet ASTM specifications or is not denatured and is shipped in bond for further processing.\n\n(b) “ Biomass ” means any organic matter which is available on a renewable basis including agricultural crops and agricultural wastes and residues, wood and wood wastes and residues, and animal wastes.\n\n(c) “ Ethanol ” means fermentation ethyl alcohol which is produced from biomass and, that:\n\n(i) Meets all of the specifications in ASTM specification D 4806-88; and\n\n(ii) Is denatured as specified in Code of Federal Regulations, Title 27, parts 20 and 21 .\n\n(d) “ Ethanol plant ” means a plant at which ethanol, anhydrous alcohol or wet alcohol is produced.\n\n(e) “ Wet alcohol ” means agriculturally derived fermentation ethyl alcohol having a purity of at least fifty percent (50%) but less than ninety-nine percent (99%).","path":["MS Code","Title 69"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"00e3da47f3445bb6a89e7d47ec1d30033d5187859a2eacd6580dc06478a37900","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-69-51-1","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-69-51-5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
