Code Ann. § 69-8-3","body":"For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them herein unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:\n\n(a) “ Producer ” means any person who owns or acquires ownership of cattle, except that a person shall not be considered to be a producer if that person's only share in the proceeds of a sale of cattle or beef is a sales commission, handling fee or other service fee.\n\n(b) “ Collecting person ” means any livestock dealer licensed under the Packers and Stockyards Act of 1921, as amended, who makes payment to a producer for cattle purchased in Mississippi.\n\n(c) “ Council ” means the “Mississippi Beef Industry Council.”\n\n(d) “ Commissioner ” means the Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce for the State of Mississippi.","path":["MS Code","Title 69"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"aba64f86afdfc6537e14e712101e3ee72a7f65508250f477855db7cde9345ea6","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-69-8-15","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-69-8-5"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
