Code Ann. § 73-5-9","body":"(1) No person shall practice or attempt to practice barbering in the State of Mississippi without a certificate of registration as a registered barber issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.\n\n(2) No person shall be a barber instructor in the State of Mississippi without a certificate of registration as a barber instructor issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.\n\n(3) Any person or persons who violates any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable upon conviction in a court of competent jurisdiction as follows:\n\n(a) For the first offense, by a fine of not less than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00);\n\n(b) For the second offense, by a fine of not less than Five Hundred One Dollars ($501.00) nor more than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00);\n\n(c) For the third and any later offense, by imprisonment for not less than five (5) days nor more than six (6) months in the county jail.","path":["MS Code","Title 73"],"source_url":"https://legislature.ms.gov/","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:17Z","sha256":"dfeb087fbfcd48987f94950601c90e4e731669ea41ebb407577641aab42d9fee","source_id":"us-ms","stale":false,"prev":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-73-5-8","next":"us-ms/miss.-code-ann.-73-50-1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
