Code Ann. § 79-11-529","heading":"Fines and penalties.","body":"Any person who knowingly and willingly violates the provisions of Sections 79-11-501 through 79-11-527 shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one (1) year or both. In connection with any solicitation, any person employing a device, scheme or artifice to defraud; or engaging in any act, practice or course of business which operates or would operate as a fraud or deceit upon any person, or obtaining money or property by means of any false pretense, representation or promise shall be guilty of a felony and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) or imprisoned not more than five (5) years, or both. No indictment or information may be returned under Sections 79-11-501 through 79-11-529 more than five (5) years after the alleged violation.","path":["Title 79.
