{"data":{"id":"us-mt/33-1-707","jurisdiction":"us-mt","citation":"33-1-707","heading":"Administrative or civil action -- statute of limitations.","body":"(1) Unless otherwise provided by law, the department shall commence an administrative or civil action for a violation of the insurance code within 2 years of the date of the violation or within 2 years after the department discovers the violation or, through the use of reasonable diligence, should have discovered the violation, whichever occurs later.\n(2) Regardless of when the department discovers a violation or should have discovered a violation through the use of reasonable diligence, the department may not commence an administrative or civil action unless it is brought within 5 years of the date of the violation.","path":["TITLE 33.
