{"data":{"id":"us-mt/5-5-229","jurisdiction":"us-mt","citation":"5-5-229","heading":"State-tribal relations committee.","body":"(1) There is a state-tribal relations committee. Except as provided in subsection (2), the committee is treated as an interim committee for the purposes of 5-5-211 through 5-5-214. The committee shall:\n(a) act as a liaison with tribal governments;\n(b) encourage state-tribal and local government-tribal cooperation;\n(c) conduct interim studies as assigned pursuant to 5-5-217; and\n(d) provide recommendations and a report, if one is written, in accordance with 5-5-216 for studies completed by the committee.\n(2) The composition of the state-tribal relations committee must be as follows:\n(a) six members of the house, three from the majority party and three from the minority party; and\n(b) four members of the senate, two from the majority party and two from the minority party.","path":["TITLE 5.
