{"data":{"id":"us-mt/81-2-708","jurisdiction":"us-mt","citation":"81-2-708","heading":"Penalty.","body":"(1) Except as provided in subsection (2), a person convicted of violating this part shall be fined not more than $500, be imprisoned in the county jail for a term not to exceed 6 months, or both.\n(2) A person convicted of violating this part by importing livestock into the state without a required health certificate, permit, or other documentation authorized by department rule shall be fined not less than $500 per animal or $5,000, whichever is greater.","path":["TITLE 81.
