Stat. § 110-106.2","heading":"Department of Defense-certified child care facilities.","body":"(a)\tAs used in this section, the phrase \"Department of Defense-certified child care facility\" shall include child development centers, family child care homes, and school-aged child care facilities operated aboard a military installation under the authorization of the United States Department of Defense (Department of Defense) certified by the Department of Defense.\n(b)\tProcedure Regarding Department of Defense-Certified Child Care Facilities. -\n(1)\tDepartment of Defense-certified child care facilities shall file with the Department a notice of intent to operate a child care facility in a form determined by the Department of Defense.\n(2)\tAs part of its notice, each Department of Defense-certified child care facility shall file a report to the Department indicating that it meets the minimum standards for child care facilities as provided by the Department of Defense.\n(3)\tDepartment of Defense-certified child care facilities that meet all the requirements of this section shall be exempt from all other requirements of this Article and shall not be subject to licensure.\n(4)\tFor purposes of the North Carolina Subsidized Child Care Program, Department of Defense-certified child care facilities shall be reimbursed as follows:\na.\tDepartment of Defense-certified child care facilities that are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) shall be reimbursed based on the five-star-rated license rate.\nb.\tAll other Department of Defense-certified child care facilities shall be reimbursed based on the four-star-rated license rate.
