Stat. § 116-41.13A","heading":"Definitions.","body":"The following definitions apply in this Part:\n(1)\tFocused growth institution. - Any of the following:\na.\tElizabeth City State University.\nb.\tFayetteville State University.\nc.\tNorth Carolina Agricultural and Technical University.\nd.\tNorth Carolina Central University.\ne.\tThe University of North Carolina at Pembroke.\nf.\tWestern Carolina University.\ng.\tWinston-Salem State University.\n(2)\tSpecial needs institution. - The North Carolina School of the Arts, redesignated effective August 1, 2008, as the \"University of North Carolina School of the Arts,\" the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, and The University of North Carolina at Asheville.\n(3)\tSTEM subject area. - Any subject area in a field of scholarship related to science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
