Stat. § 130A-318","heading":"Disinfection of public water systems.","body":"(a)\tThe Department is authorized to require disinfection of:\n(1)\tPublic water systems introduced on or after January 1, 1972; and\n(2)\tAll public water systems, regardless of the date introduced, whenever:\na.\tThe maximum microbiological contaminant level is exceeded; or\nb.\tConditions exist which make continued use of the water potentially hazardous to public health.\n(b)\tPublic water systems shall employ disinfection methods and procedures approved by the Department.
