Stat. § 135-103","heading":"Eligible participants.","body":"(a)\tThe eligible participants of the Disability Income Plan shall consist of:\n(1)\tAll teachers and employees in service and members of the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System or participants of the Optional Retirement Program on January 1, 1988.\n(2)\tAll persons who become teachers and employees or re-enter service as teachers or employees and are in service and members of the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System or participants of the Optional Retirement Program after January 1, 1988.\n(b)\tThe participation of any person in the Disability Income Plan shall cease upon:\n(1)\tThe termination of the participant's employment as a teacher or State employee, or\n(2)\tThe participant's retirement under the provisions of the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System or the Optional Retirement Program, or\n(3)\tThe participant's becoming a beneficiary under the Plan, or\n(4)\tThe participant's death.
