Stat. § 143-166.40","heading":"Rules for selection and retention of law-enforcement officers; rules exempt from Administrative Procedure Act.","body":"(a)\tExcept as otherwise provided by State and federal law, the head of each principal State department may establish rules and procedures for the selection and retention of sworn law-enforcement officers to ensure that they are physically, emotionally, and intellectually qualified to perform their duties. These rules and procedures shall not establish any mandatory age limit for service as a law-enforcement officer that conflicts with a federal statute.\n(b)\tThese rules and procedures are exempt from the provisions of Chapter 150B of the General Statutes.
