The Historic Murfreesboro Commission shall have the following powers:\n(1)\tTo acquire and dispose of title to or interests in historic properties in and near the Town of Murfreesboro, and to repair, restore, or otherwise improve and maintain such properties;\n(2)\tTo conduct research and planning to carry out a program for the preservation of historic sites, buildings, or objects in and near the Town of Murfreesboro;\n(3)\tTo carry out other programs reasonably related to these purposes.
