Stat. § 143B-1481","heading":"Report on probation and parole caseloads.","body":"(a)\tThe Department of Adult Correction shall report by March 1 of each year to the Chairs of the House of Representatives and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Justice and Public Safety and the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Justice and Public Safety on caseload averages for probation and parole officers. The report shall include:\n(1)\tData on current caseload averages and district averages for probation/parole officer positions.\n(2)\tData on current span of control for chief probation officers.\n(3)\tAn analysis of the optimal caseloads for these officer classifications.\n(4)\tThe number and role of paraprofessionals in supervising low-risk caseloads.\n(5)\tThe process of assigning offenders to an appropriate supervision level based on a risk/needs assessment.\n(6)\tData on cases supervised solely for the collection of court-ordered payments.\n(b)\tThe Department of Adult Correction shall report by March 1 of each year to the Chairs of the House of Representatives and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Justice and Public Safety and the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Justice and Public Safety on the following:\n(1)\tThe number of sex offenders enrolled on active and passive GPS monitoring.\n(2)\tThe caseloads of probation officers assigned to GPS-monitored sex offenders.\n(3)\tThe number of violations.\n(4)\tThe number of absconders.\n(5)\tThe projected number of offenders to be enrolled by the end of the fiscal year.
