Stat. § 143B-181.1A","heading":"Plan for serving older adults; inventory of existing data; cooperation by State agencies.","body":"(a)\tThe Division of Aging and Adult Services of the Department of Health and Human Services shall submit a regularly updated plan to the General Assembly by July 1 of every other odd-numbered year, beginning March 1, 1995. This plan shall include:\n(1)\tA detailed analysis of the needs of older adults in North Carolina, based on existing available data, including demographic, geographic, health, social, economic, and other pertinent indicators.\n(2)\tA clear statement of the goals of the State's long-term public policy on aging.\n(3)\tAn analysis of services currently provided and an analysis of additional services needed.\n(4)\tSpecific implementation recommendations on expansion and funding of current and additional services and service levels.\n(b)\tThe Division of Aging and Adult Services of the Department of Health and Human Services shall maintain an inventory of existing data sets regarding the elderly in North Carolina, in order to ensure that adequate demographic, geographic, health, social, economic, and other pertinent indicators are available to generate its regularly updated Plan for Serving Older Adults.\nUpon request, the Division of Aging and Adult Services shall make information on these data sets available within a reasonable time.\nAll State agencies and entities that possess data relating to the elderly, including the Department of Administration and the Divisions of Public Health, Health Service Regulation, and Social Services of the Department of Health and Human Services, shall cooperate, upon request, with the Division of Aging and Adult Services in implementing this subsection.
