Stat. § 143B-830","heading":"Duties and powers of chief court counselors.","body":"The chief court counselor in each district appointed under G.S. 143B-806(b)(15) may:\n(1)\tAppoint juvenile court counselors, secretaries, and other personnel authorized by the Division in accordance with the personnel policies adopted by the Division.\n(2)\tSupervise and direct the program of juvenile intake, protective supervision, probation, and post-release supervision within the district.\n(3)\tProvide in-service training for staff as required by the Division.\n(4)\tKeep any records and make any reports requested by the Secretary in order to provide statewide data and information about juvenile needs and services.\n(5)\tDelegate to a juvenile court counselor or supervisor the authority to carry out specified responsibilities of the chief court counselor to facilitate the effective operation of the district.\n(6)\tDesignate a juvenile court counselor in the district as acting chief court counselor, to act during the absence or disability of the chief court counselor.
