Stat. § 153A-145.5","heading":"Adoption of sanctuary ordinance prohibited; waiver of immunity.","body":"(a)\tNo county may have in effect any policy, ordinance, or procedure that limits or restricts the enforcement of federal immigration laws to less than the full extent permitted by federal law.\n(b)\tNo county shall do any of the following related to information regarding the citizenship or immigration status, lawful or unlawful, of any individual:\n(1)\tProhibit law enforcement officials or agencies from gathering such information.\n(2)\tDirect law enforcement officials or agencies not to gather such information.\n(3)\tProhibit the communication of such information to federal law enforcement agencies.\n(c)\tA county in violation of this section shall have waived its governmental immunity as provided in G.S. 153A-435.1.
