Stat. § 58-58-230","heading":"Examinations.","body":"(a)\tThe Commissioner may conduct an examination of a licensee as often as the Commissioner considers appropriate.\n(b)\tAn examination under this Part shall be conducted in accordance with the Examination Law.\n(c)\tIn lieu of an examination of any foreign or alien person licensed under this Part, the Commissioner may accept an examination report on the licensee prepared by the appropriate viatical settlement regulator for the licensee's state of domicile or port-of-entry state.\n(d)\tWhen making an examination under this Part, the Commissioner may retain attorneys, appraisers, independent actuaries, independent certified public accountants, or other professionals and specialists as examiners, the reasonable cost of which shall be borne by the licensee that is the subject of the examination.
