Stat. § 86B-28","heading":"Applicants licensed in other states.","body":"(a)\tThe Board shall issue, without examination, a license to applicants already licensed in another state provided the applicant presents evidence satisfactory to the Board that the following requirements are met:\n(1)\tThe applicant is currently an active, competent practitioner in good standing.\n(2)\tThe applicant has practiced at least one out of the five years immediately preceding his application.\n(3)\tThe applicant currently holds a valid license in another state.\n(4)\tThere is no disciplinary proceeding or unresolved complaint pending against the applicant at the time a license is to be issued by this State.\n(5)\tThe licensure requirements in the other state are the substantive equivalent of those required by this State.\n(b)\tThe requirements in subdivisions (1) or (5), or both, of subsection (a) of this section may be waived by the Board provided that the applicant presents evidence satisfactory to the Board that the applicant meets all of the following:\n(1)\tHas met the licensure requirements of the state in which he or she received his or her license.\n(2)\tHas at least five years practical experience.\n(3)\tDemonstrates his or her knowledge of barbering skills and of the sanitary regulations in North Carolina by passing a practical, written or oral examination.\n(c)\tAny license granted pursuant to this section is subject to the same duties and obligations and entitled to the same rights and privileges as a license issued under G.S. 86B-23.
