Stat. § 90-325.17","heading":"Authorized treatments.","body":"(a)\tAn eligible patient is authorized to access and use an investigational adult stem cell treatment under this Part, if the investigational adult stem cell treatment meets all of the following requirements:\n(1)\tIs administered directly by a physician certified by an institutional review board that meets the requirements of G.S. 90-325.18.\n(2)\tIs overseen by an institutional review board that meets the requirements of G.S. 90-325.18.\n(3)\tIs provided at an accredited medical school located in this State, an affiliated facility of an accredited medical school located in this State, or any other facility approved by the institutional review board overseeing the treatment.\n(b)\tA physician administering an investigational adult stem cell treatment under this Part shall comply with all applicable rules of the North Carolina Medical Board.\n(c)\tThis Part does not affect or authorize a person to violate any applicable laws regulating the possession, use, or transfer of human organs, fetal tissue, fetal stem cells, adult stem cells, or embryonic stem cells or their derivatives.
