Stat. § 90-471","heading":"Board of Directors of the Institute of Medicine.","body":"(a)\tThe Board of Directors of the North Carolina Institute of Medicine shall be appointed as follows:\n(1)\tSeven individuals appointed by the General Assembly on the recommendation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives.\n(2)\tSeven individuals appointed by the General Assembly on the recommendation of the President Pro Tempore of the Senate.\n(3)\tSeven individuals appointed by the Governor.\n(b)\tThe members of the Board of Directors should be distinguished and influential leaders from the major health professions, the hospital industry, the health insurance industry, State and county government and other political units, education, business and industry, the universities, and the university medical centers.\n(c)\tTerms on the Board of Directors shall be for four years, and no individual may serve more than two consecutive terms.
