Code § 18-04-01","heading":"Eligibility for participation in fund created from premium tax on fire insurance companies","body":"1.To become eligible for the benefits provided under this chapter, a city, or one or more townships or fire districts, shall maintain therein for at least eight months before the filing of the certificate required under section 18-04-02 a fire district, fire protection district, or department that:\na.Has been in actual existence for the period specified in this section;\nb.Provides the minimum requirements for class 9 fire protection or better; and\nc.Has been in compliance with the requirements to report fires as set forth in section 18-01-06.\n2.Change in a fire department's name, or incorporation into a fire district, is deemed a waiver of the eight-month waiting period for filing a certificate of existence under section 18-04-02.","path":["Title 18 Fires","Chapter 18-04 Distribution Of Insurance Tax To Fire Departments"],"source_url":"https://ndlegis.gov/cencode/t18c04.pdf","current_through":"2026-07-31T11:12:02","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T21:04:14Z","sha256":"ffad7d2df59fe1de91644db4618934ddab04b3e51c68ba0f3d871fd2826f089e","source_id":"us-nd","stale":true,"prev":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-18-03-09","next":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-18-04-02"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
