Code § 24-16-02","heading":"Definitions","body":"1.\"Automobile graveyard\" means any establishment or place of business or location that is maintained, used, or operated for storing, keeping, buying, or selling wrecked, scrapped, abandoned, ruined, or dismantled motor vehicles, motor vehicle parts, or machinery of all types.\n2.\"Commissioner\" means the director of the department of transportation or authorized agents as provided by section 24-02-01.3.\n3.\"Highway\" means any highway as defined in subsection 22 of section 24-01-01.1.\n4.\"Junk\" means old or scrap paper, copper, brass, rope, rags, batteries, paper, trash, rubber, debris, or waste or junked, dismantled, or wrecked automobiles or parts thereof or iron, steel, and other old or scrap ferrous or nonferrous material.\n5.\"Junkyard\" means a business establishment or a place which is maintained, operated, or used for placing, storing, keeping, buying, or selling junk, or for the maintenance, use, or operation of an automobile graveyard and the term includes garbage dumps and sanitary fills.","path":["Title 24 Highways, Bridges, And Ferries","Chapter 24-16 Establishment Of Junkyards Adjacent To Highways"],"source_url":"https://ndlegis.gov/cencode/t24c16.pdf","current_through":"2026-07-31T11:12:02","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T21:04:14Z","sha256":"ff6a7f3057e2059aecd04f3184861b145d9613e87e96f59c443260c3f666d8cc","source_id":"us-nd","stale":true,"prev":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-24-16-01","next":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-24-16-03"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
