Code § 27-20.4-17","heading":"Disposition of a delinquent child","body":"1.If the child is found to be a delinquent child, the court shall make findings and include in the order of disposition any actions or steps necessary to ensure:\na.The child receives the treatment or rehabilitation the court deems most appropriate;\nb.Repairing harm caused to the victim or community; and\nc.Safety of the community.\n2.If the child is found to be a delinquent child, the court may order probation with conditions best suited to the child's individual need for treatment, rehabilitation, and welfare.\n3.The court may commit a child to the division of juvenile services, or may order a child over eighteen years of age to serve a term of probation under the supervision of the department of corrections and rehabilitation.\n4.The court may:\na.Order the child to make monetary restitution to the victim of the offense or to complete a specified number of hours of community service as determined by the court, or both;\nb.Order the periodic testing for the use of illicit drugs or alcohol; or\nc.Order the child's participation in a juvenile treatment court program.\n5.If the delinquent act committed by the child was a sexual offense, the court shall ensure the child is assessed in a timely manner, not to exceed thirty days, with age-appropriate social assessments to determine the appropriate level of required treatment.","path":["Title 27 Judicial Branch Of Government","Chapter 27-20.4 Delinquency"],"source_url":"https://ndlegis.gov/cencode/t27c20-4.pdf","current_through":"2026-07-31T11:12:02","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T21:04:14Z","sha256":"2f63a713e24c9401ce718f2952e59e65b071173eceae3d24896699c32e734681","source_id":"us-nd","stale":true,"prev":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-27-20.4-16","next":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-27-20.4-18"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
