Code § 37-18-16","heading":"Veterans' service organization reimbursement","body":"1.As used in this section, a \"funeral service\" includes a:\na.Folding of the flag;\nb.Presentation of the flag;\nc.Presentation of the state coin;\nd.Playing of taps; and\ne.Three volley salute.\n2.The department shall administer a program to reimburse a veterans' service organization for providing a funeral service at a military honors funeral.\n3.Upon the request of a veterans' service organization, the department shall reimburse up to fifty dollars to one veterans' service organization per funeral for providing a funeral service during a military honors funeral. If a veterans' service organization has received federal reimbursement for providing a funeral service for a military honors funeral, the veterans' service organization may not apply for reimbursement under this section.\n4.The veterans' service organization may authorize the playing of taps on a ceremonial bugle or a high-quality recording during a military honors funeral held in this state for a deceased veteran.","path":["Title 37 Military","Chapter 37-18 Department Of Veterans' Affairs"],"source_url":"https://ndlegis.gov/cencode/t37c18.pdf","current_through":"2026-07-31T11:12:02","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T21:04:14Z","sha256":"4bb4b96a0c57b2d2c9afd46b0d209516b50dc687dbb8e33c5072809a726cba34","source_id":"us-nd","stale":true,"prev":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-37-18-15","next":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-37-18-17"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
