Code § 39-22-26","heading":"Brokering of motor vehicles prohibited - Penalty","body":"A person may not act as, offer to act as, or hold out to be a motor vehicle broker. As used in this section, a broker is a person who, for a fee, commission, or other valuable consideration, arranges or offers to arrange a transaction involving the sale or exchange of a motor vehicle, and who is not:\n1.A dealer or a bona fide agent or employee of a dealer;\n2.A representative or a bona fide agent or employee of a manufacturer;\n3.The bona fide owner of the motor vehicle involved in the transaction; or\n4.A bona fide auctioneer conducting an auction involving motor vehicles not owned by the auctioneer.
