Code § 4.1-03-02","heading":"North Dakota beef commission - Membership - Qualifications","body":"1.The North Dakota beef commission consists of:\na.Three beef producers;\nb.One cattle feeder;\nc.One dairy producer;\nd.One representative of a public livestock market; and\ne.Three at-large representatives.\n2.The governor shall appoint:\na.Each beef producer from a list of at least two names submitted by the North Dakota stockmen's association;\nb.The cattle feeder from a list of at least two names submitted by the North Dakota stockmen's association feeder council;\nc.The dairy producer from a list of at least two names submitted by the milk producers association of North Dakota;\nd.The representative of a public livestock market from a list of at least two names submitted by the North Dakota livestock marketing association; and\ne.The three at-large representatives.\n3.a.Each member of the commission must:\n(1)Be a United States citizen and a resident of this state;\n(2)Be actively engaged in that phase of the cattle industry the member represents; and\n(3)Have been actively engaged in that phase of the cattle industry for a period of five years.\nb.Each member of the commission, except the representative of a public livestock market, must be a participating producer.\nc.For purposes of this subsection, \"actively engaged\" means that the individual:\n(1)Has an ownership interest in an operation that is of sufficient scope and significance as to constitute a distinct activity; and\n(2)Has and regularly exercises direct control of the operation.","path":["Title 4.1 Agriculture","Chapter 4.1-03 Beef Commission"],"source_url":"https://ndlegis.gov/cencode/t04-1c03.pdf","current_through":"2026-07-31T11:12:02","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T21:04:14Z","sha256":"8ec25cb65ebc4a07d81be70f9518bcef7938944b05aec7253d3672be994c83e3","source_id":"us-nd","stale":true,"prev":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-4.1-03-01","next":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-4.1-03-03"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
