Code § 4.1-05-01","heading":"Definitions","body":"As used in this chapter:\n1.\"Commission\" means the North Dakota dairy promotion commission.\n2.\"Dairy product\" means a product for human consumption which is derived from the processing of milk from a healthy four-legged hooved mammal. The term includes a milk product normally consumed in liquid form as a beverage.\n3.\"Dealer\" means any person that handles, ships, buys, or sells dairy products, or who acts as a sales or purchasing agent, broker, or factor of dairy products.\n4.\"Gross receipts\" means the amount paid to a producer for milk or for a product derived from milk and sold by such producer.\n5.\"Milk\" means the lacteal secretion, practically free of colostrum, obtained by the complete milking of a healthy hooved mammal, including any member of the order Cetartiodactyla and including a member of the family:\na.Bovidae, including cattle, water buffalo, sheep, goats, and yaks;\nb.Cervidae, including deer, reindeer, and moose;\nc.Equidae, including horses and donkeys; and\nd.Camelidae, including llamas, alpacas, and camels.\n6.\"Processor\" means a person that takes delivery of milk or cream and then:\na.Cans, dries, prepares, or packages the milk or cream; or\nb.Produces another product from the milk or cream.\n7.\"Producer\" means a person engaged in the production of milk from a four-legged mammal for commercial use.","path":["Title 4.1 Agriculture","Chapter 4.1-05 Dairy Promotion Commission"],"source_url":"https://ndlegis.gov/cencode/t04-1c05.pdf","current_through":"2026-07-31T11:12:02","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T21:04:14Z","sha256":"774ec981d0e345a216942762d0ff709ee0db5a64dcb1e612352c7c46dfea9c9d","source_id":"us-nd","stale":true,"prev":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-4.1-04-19","next":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-4.1-05-02"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
