Code § 44-06.1-11","heading":"Notarial act under authority of tribe","body":"1.A notarial act performed under the authority and in the jurisdiction of a federally recognized American Indian tribe has the same effect as if performed by a notarial officer of this state, if the act performed in the jurisdiction of that tribe is performed by:\na.A notary public of that tribe;\nb.A judge, clerk, or deputy clerk of a court of that tribe; or\nc.Any other individual authorized by the law of that tribe to perform the notarial act.\n2.The signature and title of an individual performing a notarial act under the authority of and in the jurisdiction of a federally recognized American Indian tribe are prima facie evidence that the signature is genuine and that the individual holds the designated title.\n3.The signature and title of a notarial officer described in subdivision a or b of subsection 1 conclusively establish the authority of the officer to perform the notarial act.","path":["Title 44 Offices And Officers","Chapter 44-06.1 Revised Uniform Law On Notarial Acts"],"source_url":"https://ndlegis.gov/cencode/t44c06-1.pdf","current_through":"2026-07-31T11:12:02","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-02T21:04:14Z","sha256":"9598d43a1c3d5ad1a2bb21fff93e5020ac1c232dc17c3a882387e02f089d91f9","source_id":"us-nd","stale":true,"prev":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-44-06.1-10","next":"us-nd/n.d.-cent.-code-44-06.1-12"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
