Stat. § 13-604","body":"It shall be lawful for any municipality and for any county to spend its own revenue and other available resources, including funds received under Title I of the federal State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972 (Public Law 92-512 , 23 U.S.C. chapter 24), or any successor act thereto, for any purpose for which other revenue may be lawfully expended including the following:\n\n(1) Ordinary and necessary maintenance and operating expenses for (a) public safety, including law enforcement, fire protection, and building code enforcement; (b) environmental protection, including sewage disposal, sanitation and pollution abatement; (c) public transportation, including transit systems for streets and roads; (d) health; (e) recreation; (f) libraries; (g) social services as defined in section 68-1202 ; and (h) financial administration; and\n\n(2) Ordinary and necessary capital expenditures authorized by law.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 13"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=13-604","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"e45c2ef2472e749d10209201a75ebc2c5786b3fa97d54d84c2b5fa439cb9fff6","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-13-603","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-13-605"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
