Stat. § 18-3402","body":"The Legislature finds and declares as follows:\n\n(1) Nebraska's municipalities are important to the social and economic vitality of the state, and many municipalities are struggling to cope with vacant, abandoned, and tax-delinquent properties;\n\n(2) Vacant, abandoned, and tax-delinquent properties represent lost revenue to municipalities and large costs associated with demolition, safety hazards, and the deterioration of neighborhoods;\n\n(3) There is an overriding public need to confront the problems caused by vacant, abandoned, and tax-delinquent properties through the creation of new tools for municipalities to use to turn vacant spaces into vibrant places; and\n\n(4) Land banks are one of the tools that can be utilized by municipalities to facilitate the return of vacant, abandoned, and tax-delinquent properties to productive use.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 18"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=18-3402","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"1ab3125e8537dcaeeef99455b30717712444853430f52665706ca06c3a3f74c0","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-18-3401","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-18-3403"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
