Stat. § 2-3208","body":"A hearing by the commission on proposed changes as provided by section 2-3207 may be initiated by any of the following methods:\n\n(1) By the commission on its own motion;\n\n(2) By written request of a majority of the directors of any or each natural resources district the boundaries of which are proposed to be changed or which is proposed to be merged or divided;\n\n(3) By petition, signed by twenty-five percent of the legal voters residing within an area proposed to be transferred from one district to an adjoining district by a change in boundaries; or\n\n(4) By formal written request of a majority of the directors or supervisors of any other special-purpose district wishing to merge with a natural resources district.\n\nSuch proposals shall be filed with the department and shall set forth any proposed new boundaries and such other information as the commission requires.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 2"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=2-3208","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"d019b829e0900ad67a9e5a05f7f372b7547c77c78b71ad9e8a0d411bcabf1b4b","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-2-3207","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-2-3210"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
