Stat. § 25-1339","body":"(a) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (b) of this section, the Uniform Foreign-Country Money Judgments Recognition Act applies to a foreign-country judgment to the extent that the judgment:\n\n(1) grants or denies recovery of a sum of money; and\n\n(2) under the law of the foreign country where rendered, is final, conclusive, and enforceable.\n\n(b) The Uniform Foreign-Country Money Judgments Recognition Act does not apply to a foreign-country judgment, even if the judgment grants or denies recovery of a sum of money, to the extent that the judgment is:\n\n(1) a judgment for taxes;\n\n(2) a fine or other penalty; or\n\n(3) a judgment for divorce, support, or maintenance, or other judgment rendered in connection with domestic relations.\n\n(c) A party seeking recognition of a foreign-country judgment has the burden of establishing that the Uniform Foreign-Country Money Judgments Recognition Act applies to the foreign-country judgment.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 25"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=25-1339","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"a4eb6ea18fa839d6b166e51fa208f6d3f20670f6a617b513673548618dbc1212","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-25-1338","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-25-1340"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
