Stat. § 25-3602","body":"For purposes of the COVID-19 Liability Act:\n\n(1) COVID-19 means the novel coronavirus identified as SARS-CoV-2, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 or a virus mutating therefrom, and the health conditions or threats associated with the disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 or a virus mutating therefrom;\n\n(2) Federal public health guidance means and includes written or oral guidance related to COVID-19 issued by any of the following:\n\n(a) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the United States Department of Health and Human Services;\n\n(b) The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services of the United States Department of Health and Human Services; or\n\n(c) The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration; and\n\n(3)(a) Person means:\n\n(i) Any natural person;\n\n(ii) Any sole proprietorship, partnership, limited liability partnership, corporation, limited liability company, business trust, estate, trust, unincorporated association, or joint venture;\n\n(iii) The State of Nebraska and any political subdivision of the state;\n\n(iv) Any school, college, university, institution of higher education, religious organization, or charitable organization; or\n\n(v) Any other legal or commercial entity.\n\n(b) Person includes an employee, director, governing board, officer, agent, independent contractor, or volunteer of a person listed in subdivision (3)(a) of this section.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 25"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=25-3602","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"c63b198fca5160943619dcecb115187e70db444cde0fdd8ce6fdfb9e6ff5cad0","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-25-3601","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-25-3603"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
