Stat. § 28-312","body":"As used in sections 28-312 to 28-315 , unless the context otherwise requires:\n\n(1) Restrain shall mean to restrict a person's movement in such a manner as to interfere substantially with his liberty:\n\n(a) By means of force, threat, or deception; or\n\n(b) If the person is under the age of eighteen or incompetent, without the consent of the relative, person, or institution having lawful custody of him; and\n\n(2) Abduct shall mean to restrain a person with intent to prevent his liberation by:\n\n(a) Secreting or holding him in a place where he is not likely to be found; or\n\n(b) Endangering or threatening to endanger the safety of any human being.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 28"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=28-312","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"11162b3ea039dfdb655653df463061f27f3e2252983b55248f06352df17344f7","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-28-311.08","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-28-313"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
