Stat. § 28-313","body":"(1) A person commits kidnapping if he abducts another or, having abducted another, continues to restrain him with intent to do the following:\n\n(a) Hold him for ransom or reward; or\n\n(b) Use him as a shield or hostage; or\n\n(c) Terrorize him or a third person; or\n\n(d) Commit a felony; or\n\n(e) Interfere with the performance of any government or political function.\n\n(2) Except as provided in subsection (3) of this section, kidnapping is a Class IA felony.\n\n(3) If the person kidnapped was voluntarily released or liberated alive by the abductor and in a safe place without having suffered serious bodily injury, prior to trial, kidnapping is a Class II felony.","path":["NE Code","Chapter 28"],"source_url":"https://nebraskalegislature.gov/laws/statutes.php?statute=28-313","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:21Z","sha256":"c6fc67465a265ceff98262dc75e613c1aeeab0e3a313889b5796cd3b95fa1944","source_id":"us-ne","stale":false,"prev":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-28-312","next":"us-ne/neb.-rev.-stat.-28-314"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
